Privacy Policy

In short: the TomeLens extension works entirely in your browser. It doesn't collect or sell your data. The only thing it ever sends is your Pro license key, to check that it's valid.

Who we are

TomeLens is an independent browser extension for self-published authors, operated by the TomeLens developer from Costa Rica. TomeLens is not affiliated with Amazon.

The extension

TomeLens runs on Kindle Store search pages and Kindle book pages you open on amazon.com. It reads the data that is already on that page and shows badges and an analysis panel or, on a book, its Best Sellers Rank, estimated sales and royalties.

Page data, such as search results and a book's rank, price and details, is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
Your searches and books: for each Kindle Store search you open, TomeLens saves a summary (result counts, ratings, prices and which books were on page 1), and for each book you open, its title, rank and price, in your browser's extension storage, to fill the research page and show ranks on later searches.
Settings, such as whether the panel is collapsed and the costs you enter in the profit calculator, are stored only in your browser.

TomeLens never clicks, buys or loads other Amazon pages on your behalf, and never touches your KDP account. It contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code.

License checks for Pro

If you activate TomeLens Pro, the extension sends your license key to Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, to confirm the key is valid. It repeats this check about once a day. The request contains the license key and an activation ID, and nothing about your browsing. In Firefox, the extension asks for your permission before it sends the key.

Purchases

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for TomeLens Pro. When you buy Pro, Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details to process the payment, calculate taxes and send your receipt and license key. We receive your name, email address and order details so we can provide support and refunds. We never see your full card details. Lemon Squeezy's handling of your data is described in the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
